DeviceInfo is a free widget for the N97 provided by moubail.com that displays system information. It displays information such as IMEI code, amount of free RAM and firmware version in both text and graphical display.

Features

DeviceInfo mainly displays information about memory – both RAM and storage – and device codes (firmware, IMEI, WLAN Mac, product type). There is also some information about system status such as Bluetooth and auto lock.

Should I get a task manager instead?

No, not if you don’t need to start or stop processes or do other operational task work. If you’re just after system information, DeviceInfo gives you what you need. Also, a task manager usually lies around in the background draining some resources from your phone, so it’s a bit of an overkill if it’s only system information you’re after.

The program starts quickly and is dead simple – just like I want it! The graphical display is also a nice touch. It would have been nice if you could place the widget on the home screen though and have it displaying the amount of free RAM continiously. One for next version, folks?!

The only negative I can find is the system status information, which unlike memory information is not updated on the fly. So for instance if you switch Bluetooth on or off you actually have to restart the program to get the status updated. Also, the settings for auto lock doesn’t seem to be correctly reported. This is minor stuff though, I can see if I have Bluetooth on or off and keep track of the auto lock setting myself!
