Quotes is a free utility app and home screen widget for the N97. As the name implies it presents quotes on the screen.

Features

The program presents random quotes in a widget. The widget can be placed on the home screen and in that mode automatically updates the current quote every now and then. In full screen mode, several quotes are presented at once.

Worth quoting?

Oh yeah! Most quotes are both striking and with a nice philosophical touch. It’s also nice to see a program that does one thing and one thing only but does it well. And of course, there aren’t nearly enough home screen widgets out there for the N97, so every contribution in this area is welcome.

The only thing I miss is more contemporary quotes. As it stands, most included quotes are from ancient history. Nothing wrong with that, but it would have been more interesting to see a mix of historical quotes and more recent ones. John Lennon? Martin Luther King? Madonna? To name just a few candidates…

The brown background and the overall layout is nice and elegant and together make up a good looking widget.
