Game Review: JumpyBug
JumpbyBug is a free game for the N97 and S60v5 platform provided by Fox Mobile Distribution. Since it contains ads downloaded from the internet, maybe it’s more appropriate really to label it adware, but it’s listed as free in the Ovi store.
Features
JumpyBug features simple gameplay where you touch the cloud on the screen that you want to jump to. The goal is to get as high up as possible, scoring points along the way. If you miss a cloud or hit an obstacle and fall, you will lose a life. When all your lives are lost, it’s game over!
Does it make you jump?
Hm, no, it actually makes me a bit meditative, but that’s a good thing since it means I’m into the game! It’s a nice game for a 10 minute break every now and then and the gameplay has a nice flow to it. You kind of get into its rhythm as you jump from cloud to cloud, getting higher and higher up in the sky!
After a while you get the hang of it though and start piling up points. Since there is no save functionality this makes replaying the game a bit frustrating since you have to play for quite a while until you get back to where you left off last time. Also, the ads are not really a big deal, but they still force you to click through one or two screens every now and then which is a bit annoying.
Summary
Pros
- Free (adware though)
- Easy and addictive gameplay
Cons
- No save feature
- Adware
Overall, it’s simple and groovy and I can live with the adware. A recommended download!
