Game Review: Labyrinth Lite
Labyrinth Lite is a free game for the N97 and S60v5 platform provided by Offscreen Technologies. It’s a remake of the classical Labyrinth board game.
Features
The goal is to tilt your device so that a steel marble can run through all obstacles to the end of each level (labyrinth). The game uses the built-in accelerometer to registrate your tilts. There are three levels in the Lite edition, which you’ll finish off quickly. Since there’s a timer for each level you can try again to complete it with a faster time. There’s also a full version called Labyrinth Touch with lots of more content.
Does it give you a tilt?
Oh yeah! I never really get tired of the sensation when the marble follows each twist and turn I do with the phone. That alone makes this a must download! Sensitivity is not perfect, you get the feeling that the phone lags just a little and doesn’t really keep up with your movements, but it’s still good enough to have fun with and it’s really a landmark of sorts on how far mobile technology has evolved.
Of course a few more levels in the free version wouldn’t hurt, and although it’s impressive it’s also an example of the N97 hardware being almost up to the task, but not quite getting there…
Apart from the accelerometer and the technological wonders, it’s also a fun game in it’s own right that rewards practise and precision.
