How to: Get RSS Feeds on Homescreen (in proper order)

This item was filled under [ news, Others ]

A while back when I tried to add RSS feeds to my homescreen on my N97 I found that the inbuilt Nokia RSS reader decides to put all the topics the wrong way around so that you get the oldest post first, this is obviously exactly what we don’t want when using RSS feeds for things such as news updates. You can use this method by me to fix this.

First you have to go to http://www.adenbeckitt.co.uk/extras/rss and type in the URL of the desired RSS feed. When typing in a URL then you must use “http://” in front of the link you input. The output will be a link with some random characters on the end, keep this link safe.

Then go make a new RSS feed in the built-in web browser like so; Go to “Three lines on right”>Go to feeds>Options>Web feed options>New feed

There you give it a name and input the address that the website above gave you. If you require the RSS feed to update automically then change Automatic updates to ‘on’.

After this then you need to go to your homescreen and add the feed that you just made by going to; Options>Edit content>Options>Add content>”Name of RSS feed”>Done

Let me know what you think to this fix, I use it daily so it should work for everyone.
