Nokia 5800 vs Nokia N97
We will continue comparing devices against the N97, it is the turn for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic to go on the ring and take a chance against the N97. We are looking at similar phones which are based on Symbian OS with S60 5th edition UI, which is intended for touch screen devices. However, when it comes to features is when the consumer must decide what he or she wants.
The 5800 XpressMusic is the first S60 5th edition phone made by Nokia, which meant its introduction to the touchscreen phones world. If you remember well, this device got a lot of hype because it appeared in The Dark Night and it was called the “Tube”. It was released on October 2008 and has been really successful in many countries. It is being released worldwide in the next few weeks. Some of its features are a 3.2 MP Carl Zeiss camera with double LED flash, HSDPA, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.2″ display. The “Comes With Music” feature will allow the user to download music from a huge catalog directly to the device.
The N97 has the same S60 5th edition platform but adds extra features (as well as higher price tag), it has a 5MP Carl Zeiss camera, a bigger 3.5″ display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and both have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The 5800 will be sold for £249 while the N97 will be sold for around £487 in the UK.
