Summary: The idea of releasing a compass for a phone has been thought of many many times before but probably best executed on the IPhone and due to the amount of interest in it there has been a good few attempt to make one for the nokia N97. I’m sure most of you probably know that the nokia N97 is the only phone that has a Compass sensor so while most other Compasses use some connection to the outside world the nokia n97 can point you in the right direction anytime. There is actually a bit of discussion going on about this sensor many people think its a GPS Compass but really its a magnetometer so you have to be moving in a direction for it to work. Most people like the idea of compass but really its much more of a gimmick rather than a useful tool.

Overview: The reviews for this application have been quite positive but the are a few people say that the pre-installed one is fine but this one is a little off. Anyway Compass is free and is only designed for the nokia n97 so there probably wont be too many of these applications released because of the lack of nokia n97 owners but you never know.Anyway you can find the download link below or you can go to their website and donate if you like.

Note: You need to “Calibrate” – Rotate the device around all axes in a continuous movement to get a good signal before using, before you get signal strength GOOD or BEST, the data might be incorrect
