Today I’d like to discuss about the Nokia N97 Widget competition, first of all, a widget is a time-saving element of the device’s user interface, a visual building block that provides an easily accessible single interaction point with an application, which holds and processes data.

There are many types of widgets and Nokia is holding this competition for designing a widget for the N97, the best of them all will receive a N97 before the public release date with his or her widget loaded on the device. As well as getting the winning widget into production.

Programming skills aren’t neccesary, just basic photoshop knowledge and great ideas!

By the way, everyone seems to be going crazy with the release date for this phone, I’ll do some research on the alleged release dates that show up on the web. If you remember, one of our readers pointed out the Feb. 11th, 2009 date. We’ll present you some more info on this later.
