As many of you have heard about the “Nokia N97 Widget Competition” at the Nokia Innovation Newsdesk by PiZero (yes, the guys that make this nice themes for Nokia N97). The competition is now closed and the winners will be announced shortly. The winner would get an Nokia N97 pre-loaded with the widget they created on the Nokia N97 homescreen. They would also be the first ones to receive the Nokia N97 ie before the it releases in the markets. Nokia would also publish their widget in the OVI store.

The competition allowed users and participants with special talents to show their ideas and creativeness.

I decided to post this widget by the famous theme maker PiZero since I thought it was a very good concept, design and had good functionality. Here is a quote from him:

“The goal is to design a good looking and useful widget for the upcoming Nokia N97, and everyone can participate by downloading the design package and submitting its own entry to the contest. Even if it has been running for a while, I only found the time to design something in the last days, and I ended up by designing a widget related to – guess what? -  Themes”

The visitors were allowed to vote for the competition entries on a scale of 1-5 stars. The final 10 highest rated widgets were then sent to a panel of judges appointed by Nokia. The winner was chosen on the terms of quality, usability and creativity.
