App Review: Spotify Client
Yesterday (23rd November) the new verson of spotify client was released for symbian devices, which is a great way forward!
Spotify doesn’t sound very attractive and isn’t something you would consider having on your mobile phone device, spotify client isnt a whole new kind of way of listening to music as the network provider ‘Vodafone’ has a same kind of application called ‘musicstation’ which does exactly the same.
You can have the spotify client for only £9.99 per month, or you can pay daily for 99p.
Now to the point, what is spotify? spotify client is a application that lets you browse and listen to songs, you can also download the songs to you phone. the main idea of spotify is for you to stream music from there server straight to your device. you can connect to the server via wifi, 2.5g and also 3g(wifi being the fastest).
I would strongly suggest if you are going to use your service provider i would have a unlimited internet package as this is going to eat away at your calling credit.
A really good thing that the developers have done with spotify is unlike the other/similar applications. you dont have to be connected online to listen to the music you have already downloaded.
when i used to use ‘musicstation’ you had to be connected online even if you had already downloaded the songs. after downloading spotify i found the actual application started off really slow, that slow that i was thinking this was terrible. This was easyly solved just by turning the handset off and back on again. I dont exactly know what this does but the application runs fine now.
The interface of the application is easy to use. when you boot the application it asks you what connection you will use and off you go. things that inpressed me. One thing that really inpressed me was that when i had the application running in the background it still didnt slow the device down, didnt kill the battery fast. bad points of this application is that…. well to be quite honest i havent found anything bad about this application. its constantly being updated with music. ive found every song ive ever wantted.
