With the N97 being around for a few months now, here’s a summary of the top 3 commercial games available. All 3 games make nice use of the touch screen on the N97.

3) Smart Educational Games

Smart Educational Games is collection of educational mini games provided by Crazysoft. There are mini games within four different categories; math, memory, puzzle and earth (geography). There’s also difficulty settings for all mini games so they can be played by both adults and kids. The game has some design flaws, but also very rich content. At US$9.95 it’s still a recommended download. Especially if the user will be a kid. A free trial is available.

2) Final Battle

Final Battle is a n adventure game in the classic sense provided by Crazysoft. It’s the most ambitious game we have ever reviewed for the N97, featuring fun gameplay that will last a very long time. Gameplay can get a little bit repetitive at times, but most of the time it’s a joy and at US$15,95 definitely worth the price.

1) ChessGenius

ChessGenius is a chess computer developed by Richard Lang. It has all the features you would expect from a professional chess computer… And then some! It’s loaded with options, including difficulty settings so both amateurs and professionals can enjoy a good game of chess. If you want to play chess on your N97, this is it, and the price of US$19,95 is well worth it. While not developed specifically for the S60v5 platform, it’s also worth mentioning that it has a S60v5 specific touch support implemented. Nice!
