Windows Live Messenger for N97 released
Microsoft has finally released Windows Live Messenger for phones equipped with Symbian S60 5th edition which are the 5800 XpressMusic and the N97. Now, users can install this IM app to chat with their MSN buddies and to obtain access to Windows Live Hotmail accounts, which is a major advantage if you use Hotmail or MSN mail as your preferred inbox since Nokia e-mail doesn’t allow to connect to Hotmail accounts.
Even though there hasn’t been any recent news about the N97 release date, many companies are already releasing apps and themes for the upcoming flagship and for the 5800 as well.
Having this app installed on your device means that you can have access to this community, however, I consider a greater advantage to have an app such as Fring or Nimbuzz that allows the user to connect to other communities using only one application. These communities include AIM, GTalk, MSN, Skype (including VoIP calls), among others.
So I would recommend installing this app if you use Live Messenger exclusively. You can download it here.

This article states that the email app on the N97 does not allow you to access hotmail… this is untrue, i have been using the n97 since June 26th and was accessing my hotmail account on the first day

Yeah I agree with Declan you can access hotmail using the nokia email service without any special settings.

Hi i’ve downloaded the official windows live messenger software through OVI.
I am able to install, but it takes a very long time to install though. However this is not a major problem at all, the real problem is that, after retrieving personal settings, the messenger download contacts. The bad thing is that when the bar almost reach the end , it stopped, while still retrieving contacts. it doesnt even move after a long 5 hours… may i know if anyone can solve my issue?

Can anyone please tell me how to remove my display picture on my mobile? I changed it to a reallly bad picture of me that was taken from my phone and was in gallery. Now I just want to change it back to the dafault msn image that is seen on normal msn mobile. How do i do that? is there any way to remove your display image? please help

i got a n97 chinese version with old msn … and everytime i log to it it req update so i skip the update and i log to it but i wanna update it and i need the install as java setup becouse the chinese copy does not open sisx could u guyz help me please that would be so perfect…

But I think is not the end of the world… download using OVI all you can and find here what else.

could anyone of u having the same problem that after installing this msn messenger on ur N97 or N97mini, the cell restarts itself sometimes? i installed it a month ago and was having this prob so i uninstalled it & things got ok.

Dear all, i bought my n97 from malyasia and all the languages insatlled on it are english, indo and thai. i want to add the arabic language to the phone languages but i cant find it anywhere. can anyone help?
